BNMotorsports Mid Season Update

The 2010 racing season continues to be an exciting one for BNMotorsports. Having completed two races of the Ultra 4 Grand Slam series, the King of the Hammers and the Silver State 300, the team are running in a strong 7th place in the series. This can be attributed to our recent strong performance in the Silver State 300 where the team placed 5th, with the pressure on driver of record Ben Napier landed from Australia only 2 days before race time, and the team had to jump straight into the car with no test or tune time before the tough but fast 300 miles through the Nevada Desert. The superiority of race preparation by Randy Slawson at Bomber Fabrication was proven with the car not requiring any work throughout the race. Also critical to our race was the continued success the team has had with the combination of Raceline Wheels and BFGoodrich Tires with not a single issue as we bounced through loose rocks, hit speeds around 110mph and cornered through snowy mountain roads. The second half of the 2010 season looks to be an extremely busy one for the team with 3 more significant events to be contested. The third event of the Ultra 4 Grand Slam series will be held in Colorado on August 14 and 15. Here the team will race the Lands End Hill Climb which will be an extremely different race from us requiring significant reconfiguration of the Bomber racing chassis to sit low and corner hard. Following soon after that is a really exciting event, the Stampede, held in Reno Nevada, 8th through 12th September. Bringing back true King of the Hammers style racing this race features both high speed desert and insane rocks in a truly hard core event. Based in the centre of Reno this event promises a lot of exposure for the team and our sponsors. Competing for $10,000 prize money we will be going for the win, putting in serious time in the desert in the lead up to get the car fast and well tuned. To ensure this Ben will be in the US for the whole period between the Hill Climb and the Stampede getting confident with the set up of the car – hopefully this ensures he doesn’t roll the car in the first 50 miles like in the Silver State! Finally the team will travel to Cougar Buttes California for the fourth event of the Grand Slam Series, an old school rock crawl. With relaxed rules, the courses will challenge the team, however there will be no rock crawling style penalties for reversing. This unlimited style of competition will lend itself to the strength of the Bomber, as well as the team’s history in rock sports, both in Australia and the United States. With the completion of this hectic schedule the team will then re focus their effort on the 2011 King of the Hammers, which promises to be even bigger and badder than this year. The Bomber racing car and the team are available for the Off Road Expo in October. Please contact us if we can help you in any way.
